About the Garden: The Hershey Community Garden (HCG) opened in the spring of 2014.  HCG founders, *Hershey Impact, provided the materials and built the garden located on the campus of Penn State Milton S. Hershey Medical Center.

Employees from The Hershey Company, Hershey Entertainment & Resorts Co., and Hershey Medical Center currently team up to tend to a large plot that donates food to the Hershey Food Bank, Ronald McDonald House, and the Hope Lodge. In 2015, The Hershey Community Garden as a whole donated over 800 pounds of fresh produce.

Please note: All garden plots have been assigned for 2020.  However, if you are interested in a plot, please complete the Application and you will be placed on a wait list.

Thank you to all our donors, including Giant Food Stores, Wegmens and Fertrell Company.

HCG provides community residents with a place to cultivate both gardens and friendships. Gardeners have opportunities to participate in on-site educational opportunities, hands-on gardening demonstrations, and garden festivals. Features of HCG include benches and a gazebo, picnic tables, water and hose access throughout the garden, compost bins, and access to a shared storage shed with gardening tools. HCG features 124 garden plots ranging in size; 5ft x 8ft, 8ft x 10ft , 8ft x 15ft, and 8ft x 20ft. Traditional garden plots as well as plots designed for children, and highly raised plots for residents unable to bend to ground level are available. A portion of the garden is devoted to philanthropic purposes – the produce cultivated in this section will be donated to people in need in our community.
